EFT, often called emotional acupressure, stands for Emotional Freedom Technique and it is based on the idea that unresolved emotions can compromise our potential for happiness. In essence, EFT is an emotional healing technique which is also capable of dramatically relieving many physical symptoms.
EFT combines emotional elements with the ancient principles of acupuncture, to produce a revolutionary discovery: unresolved emotional issues are caused by disruptions in the body’s energy system. These disruptions inhibit our natural ability to heal, leaving us open to nagging fears, chronic pain and terminal illness. EFT addresses the causes of energy disruptions with a gentle tapping procedure using the fingertips. The process addresses causes, not just symptoms. Tapping with the fingertips, on various acupressure points, serves to balance energy meridians which become disrupted when you think about, or become involved in, an emotionally disturbing circumstance. Your actual memories stay the same, but the emotional charge is gone. Typically, cognition often changes in a healthy direction as a natural consequence of the healing and results are long-lasting.
